Part Ⅳ. English-Chinese TranslationDirections: Read the following passage and then translate the five underlined sentences into Chinese.
If you feel tired during the day, resist the temptation to take a nap(午睡,小憩). American society is not nap-friendly. In fact, says David Dinges, a sleep specialist at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, "There's even a prohibition(禁令) against admitting we need sleep." (41)Nobody wants to be caught napping or found asleep at work. To quote a proverb: "Some sleep five hours, nature requires seven, laziness nine and wickedness 11."
Wrong. (42)The way not to fall asleep at work is to take naps when you need them. "We have to totally change our attitude toward napping," says Dr. William Dement of Stanford University, the godfather of sleep research.
Last year a national commission led by Dement identified an "American sleep debt" which one member said was as important as the national debt. The commission was concerned about the dangers of sleepiness: people causing industrial accidents or falling asleep while driving. (43)This may be why we have a new sleep policy in the White House. According to recent reports, the President is trying to take a half-hour snooze (=nap) every afternoon.
About 60 percent of American adults nap when given the opportunity. We seem to have "a mid-afternoon quiet phase," also called "a secondary sleep gate". (44)Sleeping 15 minutes to two hours in the early afternoon can reduce stress and make us refreshed. Clearly, we were born to nap.
(45)We Superstars of Snooze don't nap to replace lost sleep or to prepare for a night shift. Rather, we "snack" on sleep, whenever, wherever and at whatever time we feel like it. I myself have napped in buses, cars and planes, on boats, floors and beds, and in libraries, offices and museums.2.

One possible version:
The process of urbanization—the migration of people from the countryside to the city—is the result of modernization, which has rapidly transformed where people live and how they live.
The effects of urban living on people should be considered. Undoubtedly, it can lead to social and economic progress, and city dwellers may have easy access to education, employment, and welfare. However, it exerts pressure on cities to provide housing and services as well. The process of urbanization has generated severe pollution that eventually destroys the environment and the ecosystem.
The social changes brought about by the transition to urbanization place new demands on city planners. As societies and economies become more complex, the city leaders should give careful consideration to a comprehensive program of urban redevelopment and environmentally friendly urban design, so as to make the city more efficient and a better place to live.
