Dear Editor,
[1]
I am writing to point out that the traffic in our city is getting worse. The major cause of the worsening traffic in our city lies in the increasing number of private cars. [2]
It is true that all the factors such as the poor road layout and the constant road construction are holding up our traffic; however, apart from those relatively fixed and occasional factors, the number of private cars we pull onto the road should be taken under control.
[3]
I highly recommend that the governraent continue tightening the quota for car license plates and that the private car owners save their steering for more necessary circumstances like emergencies, instead of throwing themselves into the already "rushed" rush hours, when public transportation, more often than not, may deliver us to our destinations at a more incredible speed.
Yours sincerely,
Li Ming
I'm writing to point out that...
[2]It is true that…
[3]I highly recommend that…

[1]As a Chinese saying goes, food is the first necessity of the people. No wonder that the woman in the picture is surrounded by all kinds of food. And... Wait! Melamine in the milk, pesticide in the fruits, and preservative in canned confection... The woman turns at a loss which to choose.
The application of overdosed food addictives or even harmful industrial ingredients has been somewhat of an unwritten rule in the food industry. [2]Without sensational media disclosures and tighter regulations by state authorities, the rule would have put more people's health in danger.
[3]Never have concerns over food safety voiced by the public reached such a great extent. Our nerves can hardly stand any more news about seriously melamine-endangered infants. [4]As ordinary consumers, we wish to get our money's worth in exchange for safe and edible food. Fortunately, we are assured that most food producers are law-abiding and have been always making efforts to create sustainable development for their brands and products. [5]Similarly, we are assured that govemrnent sectors concerned do take responsibility for the granting of business licenses and the random inspections for food quality. In this way, we can reassure ourselves that what we take are not poisons.
