Dear Mr. Johnson,
On behalf of the organizing committee, I am writing to invite you to be a judge of the upcoming English speech contest of our college.
[1] The contest will be held at the Multifunctional Hall next Friday evening.
[2] The topic focuses on pursuing a further study abroad. As the most popular foreign teacher in our college, you are the fittest person we can think of. You need to ask each contestant one or two questions and then grade them on their overall performance.
[3] We will be more appreciative if you could also give a wrap-up comment and make some helpful suggestions at the end of the event.
[4] It is our sincere hope that you would accept our invitation.
[5] We are looking forward to your reply at your earliest convenience
[6].
Yours sincerely,
Li Ming
[解析] 文章开头处在I am writing to...之前是一个介词短语on behalf of the organizing committee...,不仅使句式更如灵活,也使邀请更有说服力。
[3]本句介绍了外教作为评委的主要职责,you are the fittest person we can think of意为“您是我们能想到的最合适的人选”。
[4]We will be more appreciative if... a wrap up comment意为“总结性评论”。
It is our sincere hope that...,表明了写信人的真诚和期待。
[6]We are looking forward to your reply是信件结尾的常用句型。 结尾句还可以有其他的表达法,如:“Please inform us of your decision at your earliest convenience.”、“Your prompt attention to my letter would be highly appreciated.”等等。

As is depicted in the picture, a large group of graduates are coming to a fork in the road.[1]A variety of choices, ranging from finding a job, taking part in the entrance exam for postgraduates, going abroad to starting a business of their own[2], lies in front of them. They have to make a choice, which will largely affect their future.
So which direction should graduates take?[3] If they want to make a wise decision, the following factors should be taken into consideration[4] To begin with, graduates are supposed to know the different characteristics of each choice. A good analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of these choices may prepare a favorable start for the future.[5] In addition, they should make a fair evaluation of themselves. This will help them know better about what will be the most suitable for them and bring their potential into full play. Last but not least, as young people, they should hold a practical attitude. Though some people achieved great success in one leap, usually progress is made step by step.[6]
Making a sensible choice before graduation is indeed of primary significance in one's career planning. But this choice does not decide everything once and for all.[7] Flowers and thorns line every road at the same time [8], so graduates must get ready to face the coming new life with more wisdom and courage.
[2]现在分词短语ranging from...to...
To begin with、In addition、Last but not least分层次为毕业生解读如何才能作出正确的人生选择,条理清晰。
prepare a favorable start for the future意为“为未来准备一个良好的开端”。
bring...into full play、hold a practical attitude、achieve...in one leap都是值得积累的亮点短语。
once and for all意为“一次性地,一劳永逸地”。
