[范文] Mind over Body
As an English phrase goes, "Mind over matter", which means that we can control our body with our mind. Many scientists have conducted lots of research on the relationship between mind and body and found that our mind can strongly influence our body. From my perspective, I am in favour of such a view.
The relationship between mind and body is actually simple. A positive mind enables us to embrace any challenge and actively find a solution to the problem, while a negative mind will let us lose ourselves in anxiety, depression, fear, anger and etc. Once we are buried in a bad mood, our body easily gets sick. There are many vivid examples in my life. My grandma is a kind, happy woman, who is 86 years old now. She is always energetic and keeps a strong curiosity about new things. However, I have also seen some people in middle age look like old men with wrinkles covering their faces. Comparing them, we can easily find that people like my grandma with an optimistic mind always look younger and enjoy good health, while those with a negative mind always look older than their age and are easy to develop diseases like cancer.
In addition, many people may have heard of the placebo effect, which is the fact that some patients' health improves after taking what they believe is an effective drug. However, the drug is in fact vitamin. It is interesting that the patients who take placebos not only feel much better by themselves but also are in good health. The health index, like the blood pressure, is actually improved. In other words, our mind indeed influences our health and our body.
In conclusion, our mind has the power to influence our body. If you want to live a healthy and happy life, you'd better build a healthy mind and keep a positive, optimistic mood, for a smile can make you ten years younger.
